In a move sure to both shock and delight, the team behind from The Flying Cock will close the doors to Brisbane’s Finest Chicken Pub, The Coop Bistro, on Saturday, October 20.

After serving the people of Fortitude Valley and greater Brisbane some of the city’s best fried chicken, parmys and clucking delicious pub fare (plus a recent Australian Liquor Awards nomination for the nation’s best food menu), the team behind The Coop and its big clucky brother, The Flying Cock, will be closing the space to re-fit, before re-opening in a new, permanent capacity.

Like a vegan phoenix rising out of feathery ashes, The Flying Cock are excited to announce a permanent extension of their pop-up collaboration with Gold Coast sensation, I Like Ramen.

Following the success of their I Like Ramen pop-up on Sundays at The Coop Bistro, I Like Ramen will be making a permanent home for their incredible plant-based menu offering in the space currently occupied by The Coop.

“We’re going to miss The Coop, especially the parmys that have been an institution in our venue for over four years,” says co-owner David Flynn. “We’re looking forward to this next chapter for our bistro space, and are excited to bring the amazing vegan offering from the I Like Ramen team to Brisbane. Their food is delicious, incredibly creative, healthy and one of the most unique in Australia - possibly the world”.

Flynn says that the decision to overhaul The Flying Cock’s food offering was a based on a range of factors, having seen their own employees and punters developing a growing interest in plant-based food options.

“It’s something we’d like to see more of in Brisbane, and we’re proud to be bringing something very different to Fortitude Valley.”

The Coop will end their reign over the bistro space at 388 Brunswick Street, with a last hurrah serving up its highly-popular daily deals.
